What is a good nutrition plan and why is it hard to stick to?

If I were to tell you that a healthy balanced food plan consists of approx. 60% carbohydrates, 10% protein and 30% fats, would you be prepared to go to the supermarket with a calculator and start to work out how many grams of fat, carbohydrates and protein you should consume that day and every day?

In addition to this, it may also be that your history of dieting and watching your weight has left you with beliefs and habits that inhibit you from eating such a varies and amount of food.

Would you have the willpower to stick to such a plan when confronted by a chocolate bar or piece of cake? Could you turn to an apple and feel the same sense of excitement and enthusiasm? Is it possible for you to sustain such a food plan with your lifestyle in today’s society?

There is only one reason why some companies spend millions on advertising their products to you. They know advertising works and that you will BUY. How long before you give trying to block out the bombardment of adverts (relaxing with chocolates or being reminded of the fun of eating pizza with your family) fighting to resist makes you want it even more!

Take a moment to remember how long you sustained a particular diet, maybe you had a goal to reach such as a holiday, wedding or birthday. How long was it before you stopped “watching what you ate”? If you lasted longer than 6 months then you did extremely well. I suspect some of you can relate to only lasting a few days, but at some point the diet ended, WHY?

Let us know how your diet ended? Did you reach a target, did you have a major change in your life or maybe you dont know why.
